Frequently asked questions

Does the app need an internet connection?

No. Site Toolkit works entirely offline. All your data is stored locally on your device.

Is my data shared with anyone?

No. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it. See our privacy policy for full details.

How do I back up my data?

The Photo Tool has an Export to JSON option in its three-dot menu — share the file to your email or cloud drive to back up all photo metadata. For photos themselves, use Save to Album on each photo (or as the default when capturing) so they're picked up by your normal phone backup. RL points and concrete calculations can be screenshotted or shared via the Share button.

Will I lose my data if I update the app?

No. App updates preserve all your saved data, photos and settings.

What happens if I uninstall the app?

Uninstalling removes all app data from your device. Photos you saved to your gallery via "Save to Album" will remain. We recommend exporting any important data before uninstalling.

How do I calibrate the Level Tool?

Place your device on a known-level surface, then open the three-dot menu in the Level Tool and tap Calibrate. This accounts for any sensor offset in your specific device. See the Level Tool guide for full instructions.

Can I use the app on a tablet?

Yes. Site Toolkit works on both phones and tablets running iOS or Android, in portrait or landscape.

What units does the app use?

Metric and Imperial are both supported. Toggle in Settings → General → Units. The Concrete Calculator also supports m³, yd³ and ft³ for volume output.

How do I share a calculation with a colleague?

In the Concrete Calculator, tap the Share button at the bottom. It opens your phone's share sheet so you can send the breakdown via SMS, email, WhatsApp, or any installed app. Photo Tool PDFs and JSON exports work the same way.

How do I move my data to a new phone?

Use Photo Tool → Export to JSON on the old phone, save the file somewhere accessible (email yourself, cloud drive), then bring it across. Note: at version 1.0 there is no in-app JSON import — for now, exporting acts as a backup; restoration is a planned feature. For photos, "Save to Album" first so they ride your phone's normal photo backup.
