Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 14, 2026
Overview
This privacy policy covers all apps and services published by Falloy ("we", "us", "our"). We build different types of apps — some work entirely offline, others use accounts and cloud services. This policy explains how each type handles your information. We believe in transparency: you should always know exactly what data we collect and why.
How Our Apps Handle Data
Our apps fall into two categories, and we're upfront about which is which:
Offline Apps (e.g., Site Toolbox) — These apps store all data locally on your device. They do not connect to the internet, do not require an account, and do not transmit any data. Your information never leaves your device.
Connected Apps (e.g., future releases) — Some of our apps require an account and use cloud services to provide their features. These apps will collect and store data on secure remote servers. Each connected app will clearly state what data it collects and why, both within the app and on its store listing.
Information We May Collect
Depending on the app, we may collect some or all of the following:
Account Information — When you create an account in a connected app: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. We use this to authenticate you and provide the service.
User-Generated Content — Content you create within the app, such as photos, text, messages, profiles, preferences, and other data you choose to enter. This is stored to provide the app's core functionality.
Device & Usage Data — Connected apps may collect basic device information (device type, operating system version) and anonymous usage analytics to help us improve the app. We do not collect device identifiers that track you across apps.
Photos & Media — Some apps use your camera or photo library. Photos are only accessed when you initiate the action. In offline apps, photos stay on your device. In connected apps, photos you upload are stored on our servers to provide the service.
Location Data — Some of our connected apps use your device's precise geolocation as a core part of the experience (e.g., showing nearby users, providing navigation-style features, or displaying proximity-based advertisements from nearby businesses). Location data is collected only while the app is actively in use and only with your explicit permission. We do not track your location in the background. We do not build a persistent history of your movements. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings. Offline apps (e.g., Site Toolbox) do not access your location.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data solely to provide and improve the app you're using. Specifically:
- To provide the core features and functionality of the app
- To authenticate your account (connected apps only)
- To sync your data across devices (connected apps only)
- To improve app performance and fix bugs
- To communicate with you about your account or important updates
We do not sell your personal data.
Advertising
Some of our free connected apps may display advertisements to support ongoing development. We use two types of advertising:
General location advertising — With your consent, some apps may use your general location (city or region level) to display regionally relevant advertisements. Advertisers receive only aggregated, anonymised location data (e.g., "user is in Melbourne") to determine which ads to show.
Proximity-based advertising — Some of our apps use real-time location features as part of their core functionality. Where this is the case, the app may display proximity-based advertisements from nearby businesses as you travel. For example, a nearby cafe might advertise a coffee break as you approach their location. These ads are generated using your precise location but your precise location is never shared directly with the advertiser. Instead, our system matches your location to nearby participating businesses and displays their ads within the app. The advertiser knows their ad was displayed to a nearby user but does not receive your identity, coordinates, or any personally identifiable information.
Important details about proximity ads:
- Proximity ads only function while the app is actively in use and location permission is granted
- You can disable proximity ads by revoking location permission in your device settings — the app's other features will continue to work, but location-dependent features will be limited
- We do not build a history or profile of your locations for advertising purposes — proximity ads are real-time only
- We do not sell location history or movement data to any third party
Ad partners — We work with third-party advertising networks and directly with local businesses to display ads. Ad network partners may use anonymous device identifiers to serve ads. They are bound by their own privacy policies and our data processing agreements.
No ads in offline apps — Apps that work offline (e.g., Site Toolbox) do not display any advertisements.
Opting out — You can limit ad personalisation through your device's privacy settings (e.g., "Limit Ad Tracking" on iOS, "Opt out of Ads Personalisation" on Android). You can disable location access entirely to prevent all location-based and proximity ads. You may also be able to adjust ad preferences within individual apps where this option is provided.
Data Storage & Security
Offline apps: All data is stored in the app's private directory on your device, protected by your operating system's security.
Connected apps: Data is stored on secure servers with industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use reputable cloud infrastructure providers and follow security best practices including access controls, regular backups, and monitoring.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may share data only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers — We use trusted third-party services (e.g., cloud hosting, email delivery) that process data on our behalf under strict agreements. They cannot use your data for their own purposes.
- Advertising partners — Where an app displays ads, we may share anonymised, aggregated location data (city/region level) and anonymous device identifiers with advertising partners to serve relevant ads. We never share your name, email, messages, or other personal content with advertisers.
- Legal requirements — If required by law, court order, or to protect safety.
- With your consent — When you explicitly choose to share content through the app's sharing features.
Your Rights
You have control over your data across all our apps:
- Access — View all data we hold about you within the app or by contacting us.
- Delete — Delete your data within the app, or request full account deletion for connected apps by emailing us.
- Export — Export your data in standard formats where the app supports it.
- Correction — Update or correct your information at any time.
- Withdraw consent — You can stop using any connected service at any time. Deleting your account removes your data from our servers.
Permissions
Our apps only request permissions necessary for their functionality:
Camera — To capture photos (when the app includes photo features).
Photo Library — To save or select photos from your gallery.
Internet — Connected apps require internet access to sync data and provide cloud features. Offline apps do not request this permission.
Location — Some connected apps use your location to provide location-based features and, where applicable, locally relevant advertising. Location is only accessed with your explicit permission and can be revoked at any time.
Notifications — Connected apps may request permission to send you relevant notifications.
All permissions are used solely for their stated purpose. You can revoke permissions at any time in your device settings.
Children's Privacy
Our apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through one of our apps, please contact us and we will delete it.
Data Retention
Offline apps: Data is retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Connected apps: We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your data from our servers within 30 days. Some data may be retained in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being permanently deleted.
Third-Party Services
Offline apps do not use any third-party services, analytics, advertising, or tracking tools.
Connected apps may use third-party services for cloud hosting, authentication, email delivery, anonymous crash reporting, and advertising (see Advertising section above). Each connected app's store listing will specify which services it uses. We do not use behavioural tracking that follows you across other apps or websites.

International Users
Falloy is based in Australia. If you use our connected apps from outside Australia, your data may be transferred to and stored on servers in Australia or other countries where our infrastructure providers operate. By using our apps, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data regardless of where it is processed.

Legal Compliance
This policy is designed to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable, Google Play Developer Program Policies, and Apple App Store Review Guidelines.
Our commitment: We build apps to be useful, not to harvest data. Where an app can work offline, it does. Where an app needs cloud services, we collect only what's necessary, we're transparent about it, and we never sell your information. You always have the right to access, export, and delete your data.
